Working with Gender and Sexual Diversity

Daniel is a qualified hypnotherapist with over 10 years professional experience of working with clients at his clinic in Leamington Spa. His background is in mental health care, supporting people living with schizophrenia, and it was that experience which triggered an interest in training to become a therapist. He is also a tutor, teaching the Chrysalis Certificate in Hypnotherapy and Counselling Skills, and is Chrysalis' resident blogger.

Daniel specialises in working with clients experiencing anxiety and confidence issues, in addition to quit smoking and weight loss hypnosis, although he sees clients with a wide range of issues and goals. As a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist too, he draws on those skills in his hypnotherapeutic work to empower clients to achieve the changes they desire. He has a strong interest in self-care which led to his first book, The Self-Care Bible, being released in 2015.

Another of Daniel's specialisms is his work as an LGBT+ affirmative therapist. This means that he has the skills, knowledge and understanding to work effectively with, and support, LGBT+ people therapeutically. It's a topic he presented a seminar on at the UK Hypnosis Convention in 2019 and he now supports other therapists to become LGBT+ affirmative. He also trains businesses, councils and voluntary sector organisations in how to become LGBT+ inclusive, accessible and aware in his capacity as Chair of the Warwickshire Pride charity.

Daniel is a multi-award winner for his work supporting LGBT+ people and was named among the most influential LGBT+ people in the UK by the Independent on Sunday newspaper. He has written for HuffPost and The Gay UK, and firmly believes in raising the profile of both hypnotherapy and support for the LGBT+ community.

Away from hypnotherapy, Daniel enjoys a quiet life walking his dogs in the countryside and getting lots of fresh air.
