Children and Young People

Suzanne is a qualified, professional hypnotherapist and mindfulness teacher practicing in North Leeds. She originally trained as a doctor and worked as a psychiatrist with a special interest in addiction therapy. She stopped practicing several years ago to have my family and is now a mother of three young children. Suzanne’s background in medicine and psychiatry has given her knowledge of the body, mental health, pharmacology and ethics. She has worked in the field of mental health for 18 years. She is a hypnotherapy tutor teaching on the Chrysalis Certificate in Hypnotherapy and Counselling Skills course.

Suzanne has used talking therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), family therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy and motivational interviewing. Suzanne works one to one with clients of all ages and also run workshops in businesses teaching stress management, mindfulness and communication skills. She has worked with organisations such as John Lewis, University of Leeds and the West Yorkshire Fire Department.

Suzanne has a specialist interest in working with children and families. She is keen to promote the use of hypnotherapy in schools and because of her medical background, in the NHS.
