Hi I m Nic,
I am a fully qualified hypnotherapist offering grief support from my private practice in Rake, on the borders of Hampshire and West Sussex.
Suffering my own loss has given me an acute empathy and personal understanding of the pain that grief can bring to our lives. It has also left me passionate about helping the bereaved to share and voice the devastating emotions that follow the loss of a loved one and impact on us so deeply.
Along with the darkness of deep sadness, we can also find ourselves filled with a whole host of difficult emotions including regret fear, anger, guilt, panic and anxiety. Unspoken words that we wish we had said to our lost loved one can torture us as we face their absence.
Grief can silence us too even though our hearts have so much to say. It can take away our words and our truth as we struggle against its power to express and process our pain. We need to find a way to get that utter unacceptability out of our heads and I believe hypnotherapy can help by helping us bypass the silence that keeps us trapped. As well as helping with many of the symptoms of grief, hypnotherapy offers a gentle tool to unlock the emotions that are so hard to express when we are grieving.
Wherever possible when it’s right for you, I like to work creatively alongside our hypnosis, inviting you to explore and share your journey through journaling and memory work that will allow you to realise and take comfort from the continuing bonds that death cannot break.
I am a fully qualified registrant of the National Hypnotherapy Society and a member of the National Counselling Society and I work within their ethical framework.
I am fully insured and undergo regular supervision, mentoring and professional development.
I work with Cruse Bereavement Care offering one to one support to adults.
