Hi, my name is Kate and I have worked with individuals, families and children for almost 20 years. Firstly as a school based Learning Mentor, then later as a Quiet Place therapist, Children and Families Practitioner and currently as a Pupil Wellbeing Officer.

I completed a degree in Family Studies and Psychology (2.1) and this then led to further studies as I have a keen interest in helping individuals live the best life they can.

I have completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Therapeutic Work with Children and Young People (2004) (distinction). A Post Graduate Diploma in Child and Adolescent Mental Health (2014) (distinction).

I have completed additional training in various therapeutic methods and psychological theory/practice, as well as safe guarding.

I am especially keen to use a Solution Focused Approach in my work as I believe the individual will undoubtedly have the necessary skills and strengths to work through the difficulties and challenges they are facing.

I am currently working as a school based Pupil Wellbeing Officer for an Academy Trust, working therapeutically with children and families. I am able to offer individual hypnotherapy/counselling sessions to adults and children.

I am also able to deliver Wellbeing Workshops for groups or organisations wishing to improve staff wellbeing.

In addition I have delivered training and support to individuals/parents/carers or groups in relation to parenting using the FAST, Incredible Years or The Nurture Parenting Programmes. I firmly believe in supporting the whole family and that even the smallest of changes can lead to huge improvements for all involved.

Having completed my training as a Hypnotherapist I would now like to work with clients using this powerful technique. It seems clear to me many of our unhelpful behaviours or difficulties can be traced back to our subconscious. Using hypnotherapy we are able to open up this part of ourselves and really work with the problem at its source.

The brain is powerful and we can learn to use this power to help us lead the lives we want to lead.

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile and look forward to hopefully working alongside you in the near future.

Kindest regards
Kate
