I am a qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist, registered with the NCH, AfSFH and the National Hypnotherapy Society. As such, I follow a strict code of ethical conduct, I am fully insured and I am registered with the ICO. I have also accessed specialist training in using hypnotherapy with children and young people.
Prior to training as a Hypnotherapist, I worked with children and families for over 16 years, latterly as the Assistant Principal of a large primary school, within a Multi Academy Trust that covered nursery, primary, secondary and college provision. Within my role, I led on all aspects of safeguarding, wellbeing and pastoral care as the Designated Safeguarding and Mental Health Lead. Due to my professional background, I have various skills and qualifications in education and training as well as qualifications in counselling and trauma informed practice.
In 2020, I left my role in school to work independently as a therapist, trainer, supervisor and consultant and I currently run my own private practice as well as offering training and consultancy to organisations that work with children and their families.
As well as holding professional qualifications in hypnotherapy, I am also a qualified trauma informed mental health practitioner, and trainer and supervisor for Trauma Informed Schools UK. I am also an Instructor Member for MHFA England, delivering their Mental Health First Aid courses.
Wellbeing and mental health support have always been a passion of mine and with this in mind, I trained as a 200hr Certified Yoga Teach and Meditation Teacher so I could share the benefits of Yoga with others. I also hold a Diploma in Hypnobirthing.
Part of working safely and ethically with clients, it is important that therapists access supervision, which I do on a regular basis. Supervision is incredibly important, I therefore trained as a supervisor so I could support other trauma informed practitioners with their client work. I am an accredited and registered clinical supervisor with APT.
On a personal note, I love nothing more than walking my two dogs and spending time with my family. I love catching up with friends, spending time outdoors and watching a good film.
